OUR CURRICULUM

OF GREEN MEADOW

The school day is longer than average and teachers use this time well to make sure that pupils have every opportunity to reinforce and extend their learning to contribute to their excellent progress.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Our extra curricular clubs are available for those pupils in Reception to Prep 6. They are in addition to the school day, these clubs run either at dinner time or after school. The school provides a mixture of educational and entertaining extra curricular clubs.

Other Extra curricular clubs range from music, crafts, baking, dance, choir, rounders, hockey and many more. Some have a small additional fee. At lunch time our upper key stage 2 children run a reading club, where they support and read to the younger children.

EDUCATIONAL DAY VISITS AND VISITORS

During the academic year the children take part in educational day visits. The visits are designed to complement the class's curriculum and to promote additional learning to enhance and confirm what has been taught in class during a particular topic. Examples of these days include local history walks, pumpkin picking during the festival of Harvest, Warrington Museum and St Helen’s Glass.

The school has a strong commitment to the added value of learning outside the classroom, some of which takes place beyond the statutory school day and beyond the school premises. Each year the school will arrange a number of educational visits and activities that take place off the school site and/or out of school hours, which support the aims of the school.
